Shipping prices:

1. Delivery cost within Riga starting from 2 euro + VAT. Over 50 euro – Free

The word "guarantee" in the everyday sense is different from the term interpreted by the law, and most often for this reason the consumer does not even try to exercise his rights.

The law states that simultaneously with the purchase of a product or service, you acquire the right, within two years from the date of purchase, to present claims to the seller about non-compliance with the provisions of the contract. You get this right even if the seller does not inform you about it, or indicates that you have this right for a period of time less than two years.

For example, if your question is: "How long is the guarantee for shoes?" - You will receive a response: "One month", then such a response does not exclude your right to file a claim within two years. You only need to take care of the safety of the document confirming the transaction - a check (cash) for the purchase, a receipt of strict accountability or a bank payment order.

The law states that “A guarantee is a free promise by a manufacturer or seller to return to the consumer the amount of money paid for a product or thing, to exchange a product or thing for a corresponding product or thing, to eliminate non-compliance of a product or thing free of charge, or to perform other actions if a product or thing does not comply characteristics stated in the warranty or advertising.
The warranty must be given in writing and be available prior to the purchase of goods or services. The guarantee must clearly indicate the conditions for filing a claim with respect to the guarantee, as well as the guarantee period - the period of time covered by the guarantee, the name of the guarantor (company name), name, surname, address. Also, the warranty must state that the consumer has certain rights under the regulations and that the warranty does not affect these rights. If the guarantee does not meet these requirements, this does not affect the validity of the guarantee, and the consumer has the right to demand performance of the guarantee.

You should inquire about the warranties offered by the manufacturer, retailer, or service provider before purchasing a product or service.
Remember! A guarantee is an additional obligation assumed by the guarantor. The law provides for the right of the consumer to file a claim for a low-quality product/service within a certain period of time after the purchase of the product/service.

It is also important to know that you cannot claim a warranty - this is a voluntary assurance of the seller or service provider, so the same products in different stores may have different conditions and warranty periods.

You have the right to require the seller to provide an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the warranty document for the product before making a purchase.

Remember! The warranty is given in writing and is a voluntary assurance by the manufacturer, seller or service provider that the product or service, or its components, for a certain period of time will retain its quality, safety and performance, as well as with a guarantee from the manufacturer, seller or service provider assumes additional obligations in relation to the consumer, which are not provided for in the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights.

Obviously, according to the definition of a guarantee, no promise will be considered a guarantee that gives the consumer less rights than is established by law. This practice is very common in the shoe trade, where under the guise of a huge indulgence, guarantees are given with only a period of time, for a period of one to two months. This is misleading consumers. This practice is prohibited by the Consumer Protection Act - the said promise is not a guarantee, as the consumer has two years to make a claim under the law.


It is in your interest to find out:
• whether the guarantee is provided in principle;
• who will be the guarantor;
• what will be the term and scope of the guarantee;
• what will be the terms of the guarantee.


Remember! An oral or written statement from the manufacturer, seller or service provider that the warranty for the product or service you have chosen is 2 years does not constitute a warranty under
Consumer Rights Protection Act, since the law itself gives you the right to make claims for defects in the product or service within 2 years from the date of purchase of the goods or the receipt of the service.
The warranty is only binding on the guarantor!
